The event, held at Dade County ArtConnect’s newly acquired space, brought together local leaders, artists, and community members to celebrate the opening of this exciting creative hub.

Chamber President Tim Buford welcomed attendees and shared the incredible journey that led to this moment. Dade County ArtConnect, founded in 2023 by Jocelyn Dunaway and Jennifer Jones, has quickly grown into a vital part of the Greenfield community. From hosting classes at local venues to now having a dedicated space for artistic expression, their growth has been inspiring. The ribbon cutting featured remarks from the Dade County ArtConnect President, Jocelyn Dunaway, who highlighted the organization’s many accomplishments, including successful art classes, theater productions, and future plans such as expanded course offerings, an art supply swap, and additional community outreach programs. The arts center will also host theater productions, summer workshops, and fundraisers to continue supporting its mission.

A special moment of the day was the dedication of the Scott Houston Performance Hall, named in honor of Scott Houston, who generously donated the building to Dade County ArtConnect. His contribution ensures that the arts will have a permanent home in Greenfield, fostering creativity and cultural engagement for years to come.

Dade County ArtConnect also extends its gratitude to MFA Oil for their grant to fund the new front steps, Greenfield Ready Mix for donating the materials, and Mikey Davison for his exceptional concrete work in bringing the project to life. Additionally, the chamber thanks MooreSolutions for sponsoring the ribbon-cutting event, helping make the celebration a success.

Following the ceremony, attendees enjoyed refreshments provided by Hedge Apple Eatery and had the opportunity to tour the new space. The Greenfield Chamber of Commerce extends its congratulations to Dade County ArtConnect and looks forward to seeing the arts thrive in our community.
